Tennis Summer Camp: Most Common Questions
Considering summer tennis camp for your child? Great choice! Our camp is designed to help young players develop skills, make new friends, and experience the fun and excitement that tennis has to offer. Here’s what parents like you commonly ask—and what you and your child can expect.
1. What ages are accepted at camp?
- We welcome players from ages 5 to 17, with most kids between 7 and 15. While we group players based on skill rather than age, we also do our best to honor preferences for similar-aged groups whenever possible. This way, your child learns at the right level while still enjoying the social aspect of being with peers.
2. How are groups organised?
Our camper is divided by skill into four levels:
- Red (Beginner)
- Orange
- Green
- Yellow (Advanced)
Every Monday, we assess new campers to place them in the group that best suits their skills, ensuring that each child is appropriately challenged and can grow at a steady pace.
3. What kind of training will my child receive?
Our tennis summer camp focuses on the fundamentals like— technique, footwork, and fitness—balanced with fun and engagement. We emphasize the core skills that help players progress while keeping things light-hearted and enjoyable. Our goal is to build a strong foundation, inspire confidence, and show kids just how fun tennis can be.
4. What will my child learn?
Our camp experience goes beyond just swinging rackets. Here’s what campers gain during their time with us:
- Coordination and Motor Skills: Through tailored exercises and games, we help kids build coordination, balance, and agility, which are essential for any sport.
- Teamwork and Communication: Tennis may be an individual sport, but teamwork and good communication are valuable lessons on and off the court.
- Making Friends: The camp environment is a fantastic place for kids to form connections and build friendships. Many kids leave with new tennis buddies they’ll look forward to seeing again!
- Confidence and Self-Discipline: From learning new skills to overcoming challenges, campers gain a sense of accomplishment and confidence in their abilities.
We aim to give your child a positive, memorable experience that builds a love for the game, as well as valuable skills for life.
5. What not to Expect?
While our camp provides a solid foundation, we don’t turn players into tennis pros in a week or two. If your primary goal is for your child to be tournament-ready right away, our camp may not meet that expectation.
Our approach is designed to introduce tennis for kids in a way that’s enjoyable and engaging, allowing them to learn at their own pace. We focus on nurturing a love for the sport and building lifelong skills. When kids have fun, they’re far more likely to want to stick with tennis, which is key to long-term improvement and enjoyment.
At the end of the day, our top priority is that your child has a fantastic experience—one that inspires them to keep playing and loving the game.
